From Arequipa |Excursion to the Colca Canyon ending in Puno.

This expedition offers an opportunity to appreciate one of the most breathtaking vistas of the Andean region during a journey through the Colca Canyon. Departing from Arequipa, we embark on a captivating adventure that culminates in Puno, where visitors can further explore Peru's diverse landscapes.

The itinerary details the journey starting from Arequipa's hotel at 3:15 a.m., followed by a three-hour bus trip through southern Peru to reach the village of Chivay, situated over 3,000 meters above sea level. Upon arrival, guests will enjoy a hearty breakfast including bread with butter and jam, juice, coffee, or tea. They will then proceed to the Cruz del Condor viewpoint, where they can witness the breathtaking Colca Canyon and observe the rare sight of condors soaring overhead.

Upon reaching the viewpoint, the group will embark on a scenic tour, exploring various villages and viewpoints within the Colca Canyon such as Wayrapunko and Antahuillque. At around 11:30 a.m., the team will visit the thermal baths of Chacapi, offering visitors the opportunity to relax in their natural pools for an hour. Following the bath, the group will return to Chivay, where there will be ample free time for lunch upon request.

Following lunch, the party will gather once again before heading back towards Puno, their final destination. During the six-hour drive, the travelers will make scheduled stops at the Patapampa viewpoint, allowing them to appreciate the majestic Ampato and Sabancaya volcanoes. Additionally, the group will visit the Salinas Reserve and Lagunillas to spot camelid herds and wild bird flocks.

The excursions conclude at the Puno Terminal around 7:30 p.m. This detailed itinerary ensures a memorable adventure through the stunning landscapes of southern Peru.
