Commencing at the village of Imbros, which stands at an elevation of 800 meters, and concluding in the village of Komitades, which is at 300 meters, this natural wonder is integral to the E4 European Long Distance Trail. Notably, the gorge was once the sole means of transportation connecting the village of Sfakia with the northern shore of the island, making it a significant historical site. Upon arrival in Imbros, guests will board their vehicle at a predetermined pickup location either outside or adjacent to their accommodation, traveling approximately 90 minutes to reach the starting point of the gorge. Guided by a certified trekking leader, participants will traverse the terrain, benefiting from expert advice should they require assistance and learning opportunities about the surrounding environment. Following the journey through the gorge, visitors shall proceed to Frangokastello, where they can spend two hours exploring the coastal waters and enjoying the serene ambiance offered by the natural setting. As evening descends, passengers will embark on another bus ride back to the initial meeting point, completing the day’s itinerary seamlessly.
