Upon arrival at Huchuy Qosqo, the gateway town of Aguas Calientes, one can embark on this adventure with the anticipation of experiencing the unparalleled natural wonders and historical significance of these remarkable destinations.



Tour Description

On Day 1:

- We commence with a scheduled pickup from the hotel in Cusco at 6:00 AM.
- The tour involves a scenic bus ride to the archaeological site of Tambomachay (at an elevation of 3,700 m.s.n.m), where we begin our exploration. During the journey, we observe the diverse flora and fauna along with lagoons and mountain ranges.
- Following approximately four hours of walking, we reach the Coricocha Lagoon for lunch. Post-rest, we proceed towards the Pucamarka peasant community, admiring traditional architecture.
- Our next destination is a small canyon known as Puerta de León, featuring Inca bridges and native shrub and tree varieties. Moving forward, we encounter the majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas.
- On reaching the archaeological center of Huchuy Qosqo, we set up camp for the night amidst the serene environment of this enigmatic site.

On Day 2:

- We start the day with an appetizing breakfast before embarking on a guided tour of the Huchuy Qosqo archaeological center situated at 3,600 meters above sea level. This allows ample time to fully appreciate the historical depth of the site.
- Following the tour, we embark on another four-hour walk, passing through Kantu flowers. The ascent leads us to admire the peaks of Pitusiray, Chicón, Sawasiray, Waccaywilca, and Verónica, revered by local communities.
- Lunch break followed by further exploration of the landscape. We descend to the town of Lamay, waiting for our tourist transport to Ollantaytambo, where we board the train to Aguas Calientes.
- For the night, we stay in a hotel in Aguas Calientes.

On Day 3:

- We rise early and head to the Inca Citadel of Machupicchu at 2,400 meters above sea level. Exploring the ancient Inca city in the morning with our guide lasts approximately two hours.
- Afterward, we have the option to climb Huaynapicchu, offering panoramic views of Machupicchu, surrounding valleys, mountains, and rivers. Alternatively, we may visit the Temple of the Moon and the impressive Inca Bridge.
- In the afternoon, we return via train to Ollantaytambo-Cusco.
