Chullos Travel Peru

Embark on an exhilarating adventure through Cusco, immersing yourself in the majestic landscapes and historical wonders of Machu Picchu over three dynamic days. Experience unparalleled vistas and unforgettable moments as you ascend towards this ancient Incan treasure.

Tour Overview

Our itinerary commences on Day 1 with a pickup from the hotel in Cusco at 6:00 AM. Following a scenic journey via tourist bus, we reach the Archaeological Center of Tambomachay at an elevation of 3,700 meters above sea level. Upon arrival, we embark on a hike through diverse flora and fauna, including lagoons and mountain ranges.

Approximately four hours into our journey, we pause to observe the Coricocha Lagoon, where we enjoy lunch. Post-restoration, we proceed toward the rural community of Pucamarka, where traditional dwellings are observed. Subsequently, we traverse to the 'Puerta de Leon' canyon, aptly named by local inhabitants, featuring Inca bridges and a rich array of vegetation. As we advance, we witness the majestic landscape of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Continuing our trek, we reach the Archaeological Center of Huchuy Qosqo, where we set up camp for the night amidst the serene atmosphere of this mysterious site.

On Day 2, after an invigorating breakfast, we conduct a guided exploration of the Archaeological Center of Huchuy Qosqo situated at an altitude of 3,600 meters. This excursion allows ample time to appreciate the full extent of the site's features. Following the visit, we commence our hike, which spans around four hours, traversing through Kantu flowers and admiring the panoramic view of snow-capped peaks like Pituisiray, Chicon, Sawasiray, Waccaywilca, and Veronica, revered by the indigenous population as ancestral spirits.

Post-lunch, we venture down to the village of Lamay, where we await the departure of our tourist transport heading to Ollantaytambo railway station. Here, we board the train bound for Aguas Calientes, where we spend the night in a hotel.

On Day 3, we awaken early to prepare for our ascent to the Inca Citadel of Machupicchu, situated at an elevation of 2,400 meters. During the morning, we engage in a guided tour led by our experienced guide, offering insights into the history and architecture of this remarkable site. The tour concludes with an optional activity—climbing Huaynapicchu Mountain, providing stunning vistas of Machu Picchu, surrounding valleys, mountains, and rivers.

Following the guided tour, we gather at the town of Aguas Calientes to board the train for the return journey to Ollantaytambo-Cusco, completing our three-day, two-night Huchuy Qosqo Trek adventure.
