From Puerto Maldonado || Hiking in the jungle + Sandoval Lak

Sandoval is renowned for its striking aesthetic qualities, as well as its rich variety of aquatic life. This locality is distinguished by both the abundance and substantial sizes of various fish species, including paiche.

Our itinerary commences with our arrival at your designated accommodation at 9:00 am. Following this, we shall proceed to the Tambopata National Reserve, located approximately ten minutes away.

Upon reaching the reserve, we will commence our journey by crossing the renowned gateway to the southern Amazon rainforest. Are you prepared for an exhilarating hike? Our planned excursion will cover a distance of about three kilometers along the trail. Throughout the hike, visitors can anticipate encounters with both monkeys and snakes, providing an unparalleled sensory experience.

As true explorers, we shall traverse the diverse Amazonian flora, spotting macaws and even observing hawks along the way. Our path will eventually lead us to Lake Sandoval, the picturesque heartland of the Tambopata National Reserve.

From here, we will embark on a thrilling canoe ride to explore the enchanting Sandoval Lake. As we navigate the serene waters, we will have the opportunity to encounter various unique aquatic species, including river otters and black caimans. Upon returning to land, we shall continue our journey towards a nearby local restaurant for a leisurely lunch.

Following the meal, we will make our way back to Puerto Maldonado, where we will escort you to your hotel at 17:30, concluding our day's adventure amidst the lush tropical landscape and its numerous natural wonders.
