An optional walking tour through the heart of the old town can be added; this portion lasts approximately one hour and allows you to decide whether to extend your stay in Hallstatt later in the day. You may wish to explore the charming salt mine tours if interested.

Moving forward, we traverse the picturesque Salzkammergut region, stopping at the famous St. Gilgen viewpoint for a photo opportunity.

Next, we delve into the "Sound of Music" connection, visiting the film locations and enjoying the musical performances during our journey.

Additionally, the 20-minute hike required for the salt mines is recommended to be completed with fitness in mind.
