According to legend, Himakånå is a petrified trollin. The Hike is a very nice and severely easier tour than the Trolltunga.
Trolltunga
Himakånå, which is about a 50-minute drive from Haugesund, is often called Trolltunga's little sister. Mountain people may point out that Himakånå is much more modest than Trolltunga, but that is also an advantage. This tour is much more accessible, much more family-friendly and, last but not least, faster. The hike to the top takes about an hour and here you will be rewarded with panoramic views of Lysevatnet, Nedstrandsfjord and farms surrounded by lush forest. Where is Himkånå? Himakånå Hotel is located in Nedstrand, approximately 50 minutes' drive from Haugesund. Taking public transport from Haugesund to Nedstrand is quite difficult as there are several departures every day, so we recommend driving your own car or renting a car. If you still want to take the bus, there is bus number 246 to Nedstrand. It is also possible to travel to/from Nedstrand by express boat from Stavanger and Ryfylke.
