Książ Castle and Church of Peace in Świdnica

In this tour, visitors will explore the rich heritage of Lower Silesia, with highlights including Książ Castle and the Church of Peace as key local attractions.

Upon arrival at the designated meeting point, passengers will proceed to the driving location within approximately 1.5 hours. Upon reaching the site, guests will observe the third-largest castle in Poland, with its oldest architectural elements dating back to the 13th century. Notably, subsequent reconstructions have transformed the structure over time; notably, during World War II, significant renovations were undertaken to prepare the premises for Adolf Hitler's residence. Historically, this estate was once the domain of the wealthy Hochberg family, whose wealth placed them among the wealthiest families in Europe during their time. Today, visitors can engage with detailed historical narratives through highly functional audio guides available in both English and German.

During the first half of May through early October, the picturesque grounds surrounding the castle offer an array of stunning gardens and terraces, creating a serene backdrop for exploration. This guided tour does not include access to underground passages beneath the castle walls.

The duration allotted for exploring the castle itself is two and a half hours. Following the completion of this journey, passengers will embark upon a short drive to the Church of Peace in Świdnica, situated just thirty minutes away. Constructed between the 17th and 18th centuries, this impressive edifice stands as one of the largest wooden churches in Europe due to its distinctive Gothic Revival architecture and rich historical significance. Encompassing a wide range of linguistic resources inside the church, including multiple language translations, visitors can appreciate the intricate details and stories etched into its stone facades and ornate interiors.

Once inside the church, patrons have the option to spend up to three hours exploring its grandeur. Inside, they will find themselves surrounded by numerous informational panels and exhibits in various languages, providing a comprehensive understanding of the church’s complex history and cultural importance. After concluding this memorable experience, drivers will return the party to the initial gathering spot.
