Marrakech to Fes 3 days Sahara tour via merzouga desert

During the specified three-day period, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the majestic high Atlas Mountains, the historic village of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, breathtaking landscapes within the Todra Valley and gorge, as well as the enchanting sand dunes of the Sahara Desert.

Our 3-day journey begins in Marrakech, departing at approximately 7:30 AM local time. We traverse through the majestic High Atlas mountains, stopping periodically to admire breathtaking vistas of the Atlas Range and the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2260 meters above sea level).

We proceed to Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, an ancient fortified walled city perched on a strategic trade route between Marrakech and the Sahara Desert. This historical site, built in the 17th century, features six kasbahs and a handful of dwellings within its imposing mud walls.

Upon arrival at Ait Benhaddou, we partake in a guided tour of the kasbah, followed by a leisurely lunch. Following our culinary break, we embark on a scenic drive towards Ouarzazate, known as the "Hollywood of Africa." Here, we pause at Kasbah Taourirte, a historic fortress nestled among the palm groves.

The remainder of our journey takes us through the palm groves of Skoura, past the picturesque Valley of Roses, and into the mesmerizing Sahara Desert. Our final destination is Tinghir, offering a serene retreat for the first night before concluding our tour.

Day 2:

Following our Moroccan breakfast, we commence our Sahara desert exploration. The route leads us to the enchanting Todra Gorge, characterized by its chilling atmosphere and dramatic orange cliffs, which offer a fascinating glimpse into the region's geological wonders.

As we venture deeper into the vast desert, we encounter the Todra Gorge, one of the most awe-inspiring landscapes in North Africa. The canyon stretches nearly 1,000 feet in depth, making it ideal for climbing enthusiasts. Time allows us to explore this natural marvel, enjoying its beauty and tranquility.

Continuing our journey, we head to the magical Land of the Erg Chebbi Sand Dunes, renowned for its stunning golden hues. This desert oasis offers a thrilling camel trek, allowing us to experience the mesmerizing sight of the rolling dunes against the backdrop of the starlit sky. Dinner and overnight accommodations await us at the desert campsite.

Day 3:

Our final leg of the tour concludes with a spectacular sunrise over the Sahara Desert. Post-breakfast, we mount our camels and set off towards Merzouga, the starting point of our journey.

From here, we follow the Errachidia route, passing through the charming Ziz Valley, where we pause to appreciate the panoramic views. Our meal breaks us from our journey, taking us to Midelt, located at the foot of the Tizi n'Talghoumte pass (1907 meters above sea level).

Next, we travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing by the cedar forest near Azrou. Upon reaching the outskirts of Ifrane, we finally reach Fes, marking the end of our 3-day desert adventure in Marrakech.
