After a 15-minute drive, we shall proceed to the starting point of our three-hour, scenic hiking expedition along the local Varden Mountain. Commencing from the parking lot, we shall embark upon a mostly flat forest pathway that will ascend for approximately 20 minutes to the nearby ski hut, signifying the summit of our journey. From this elevated vantage point, we shall revel in an awe-inspiring vista encompassing the fjord landscapes and the neighboring mountain peaks. Proceeding further, we shall traverse through the lush vegetation of Moldemarka, enjoying a leisurely walk through verdant terrains.

The route ahead is characterized by its uneven terrain, dotted with stones and roots, yet offers minimal elevation gains. We shall gradually descend towards the Varden Viewpoint, where a panoramic array awaits us. This captivating vista features Molde, situated on the opposite bank of the fjord, alongside the towering Romsdal Alps. A pause for reflection is recommended during this tranquil stretch; allow yourself to absorb the picturesque scene before continuing our descent into the town center.
