Ohrid, Monastery Winery Tour and Wine Tasting

Experience a unique wine tasting experience at our winery located amidst a serene small river valley. Enjoy a selection of five distinct wines alongside two premium brandies, each perfectly complemented by a delectable local cheese and cured meats platter. In the Ohrid region, no household fails to produce wine. This unique characteristic appears to be inherent among the inhabitants, much akin to their fellow humans. As such, we too embarked on crafting exquisite wines within our humble abode, sharing them with loved ones and seeking accolades and praise. Over successive years, we honed our craft and expanded our production capacity, culminating in the establishment of our modest winery in 2019. Since inception, we have produced approximately 10,000 bottles annually.

Our method remains steadfastly rooted in tradition; one might say it adheres to an ancient formula. Each vine is meticulously selected, and each step of the fermentation process receives our undivided attention. Our approach is characterized by attentive listening and adaptation to the wine's narrative. With each passing season, each barrel brings forth its own distinct character and flavor profile, subtly altering its artistic expression. Some barrels yield wines imbued with romantic elegance, while others boast the savory essence of realism. A select few transcend these categories, evoking a sense of rebirth through their exceptional quality, thus belonging to our esteemed Renaissance collection.

During the guided wine tasting session, visitors will gain insight into the historical and philosophical underpinnings of our vintages. Additionally, a comprehensive exploration of the monastic complex of Saint Cosmas and Damian is included in the itinerary, alongside a stroll through the winery grounds and cellar.

The tour concludes with an organized transfer between your accommodations and the winery, ensuring a seamless journey throughout the day.
