Ascend to Point Lenana, the summit of Mount Kenya's highest trekkable peak, via the Sirimon route before descending along the Chogoria trail. This itinerary covers the entire mountain range from its northernmost extent to its eastern extremity.
Day 1: Departure from Nairobi at 7:30 AM, driving approximately 4 hours to Nanyuki for lunch. Following the route, proceed 1 hour and 800 feet to Sirimon Gate. Thereafter, traverse through the forest, transitioning into uncultivated land after approximately 3 hours. At 3.5 hours, the path diverges to Judmaier Camp, where meals and accommodations are provided.
Day 2: Wake up early for an uphill trek starting at the same location. Upon reaching the junction, take the left fork. After 1 hour from Old Moses Camp, cross the Ontulili River. Then head right towards the Moorlands before crossing Liki North. Ascend to Mackinder's Valley; enjoy panoramic views of the main peaks. In the evening, dine at Shipton Camp, situated at 13,779 feet. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Day 3: Spend the day resting and exploring the surroundings. Trek to Kami Hut, descending to Hauseberg Lakes, Hauseberg Tarn, and Nanyuki Tarn. Return to Shipton Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Acclimate by walking to Kami Hut down to Hall Tarns, Hauseberg Tarn, and Nanyuki Tarn. Descend to Shipton Camp for breakfast. Proceed 4-5 hours further down to Mount Meru Bandas at 9,678 feet for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Descend 2 hours and 9 miles to the forest clearance. Transfer to Chogoria Village via a 4x4 vehicle where your driver awaits to transport you back to Nairobi. Breakfast and lunch are included.
