Ötztal, Obere Auerklamm Canyoning Tour for Beginners

Haiming, Austria

Cankick GmbH

Embark on an adventurous journey through the picturesque landscapes of the Tyrolean Alps, immersing yourself in thrilling abseil experiences, exhilarating jumps, and breathtaking natural water slides. Discover the joy of beginner-level canyoning in Ötztal, where you will learn fundamental skills under expert guidance.

After a warm welcome, participants should dress in high-quality canyoning equipment. Subsequently, they will board minibuses for transportation to the canyon entrance. Upon arrival, a certified guide provides a thorough safety briefing at the canyon’s entrance. A fixed hand rope secures the descent onto an incline, followed by traversing impassable terrain. Participants then ascend to a 5-meter-high rappelling point, where the guide instructs on proper technique. As the gorge narrows, the sound of cascading water fills the environment. Overhanded, participants traverse a 3-meter-long hand rope to the notorious Devil’s Hole. Here, they engage in an abseiling session through a tight passageway. The gorge progresses further, eventually leading them to a series of slides, jumps, and winding water pools. Next, they descend into a 15-meter-high speed slide carved by millennia-old water flow. After resting, participants may choose between sliding or jumping off a 6-meter-high drop. Finally, they exit the gorge via a steel cable, returning approximately ten minutes later to their base station, where they receive a post-tour snack, hot showers, and access to an outdoor swimming pool.
