ITS Holidays

Embark on a private day tour of Varanasi, immersing oneself in the city's spiritual heritage by exploring its sacred temples and university grounds. Enjoy a serene journey along the Ganges River, accompanied by an enchanting Ganga Aarti ceremony, which offers visitors a profound experience of cultural immersion and religious devotion.

Upon arrival at the designated hotel, guests will depart for a sunrise boat ride along the sacred Ganges River at 5:30 am. Upon arrival, they will witness morning rituals being conducted at the riverbank. Following this, guests will embark on a guided walking tour of the historic alleys of Varanasi, culminating in their visit to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the most revered Hindu shrines.

After breakfast, guests will proceed to Banaras Hindu University, established in 1916, situated in the heart of Varanasi. This vast educational complex encompasses the Bharat Kala Bhavan museum and the recently constructed Birla Temple, a faithful replica of the original Vishwanath Temple. Guests can explore the campus and marvel at the intricate architecture before proceeding to their next destination.

Following a leisurely lunch break, guests will travel approximately eight miles (13 km) south towards Sarnath, renowned for its historical significance. Here, they will have the opportunity to delve into the rich cultural heritage by learning about the silk weaving traditions of Varanasi. Post-lunch, guests may enjoy a light meal at a local restaurant or opt for a vegetarian option upon request.

As the afternoon progresses, guests will arrive at Sarnath, a picturesque town nestled between the Ganges and the Varuna rivers. Visitors will find themselves at the Deer Park, believed to be the site where the Buddha delivered his first sermon. Subsequently, guests will make their way to the Archaeological Museum, home to ancient artifacts dating back to the 3rd century BC.

The day concludes with a visit to the Dhamekh Stupa, recognized as the location where the Buddha delivered his inaugural sermon.
