Our journey concludes at the Arch of Charents, offering an unparalleled vista towards Ararat, often considered the most spectacular panorama atop the mountain. This architectural marvel, inscribed in honor of Armenian poet Yeghishe Charents, evokes the notion that Ararat appears suspended above the earth, a surreal yet captivating scene. Proceeding from this vantage point, we traverse to the ancient pagan temple Garni, constructed during the 1st century AD by King Trdat of Armenia. Dedicated to the sun deity Mithra, Garni serves as a poignant link between the era of paganism and Hellenism, embodying the architectural principles of classical Greek design while mirroring the grandeur of the renowned Temple of Athena in Athens. Adjacent to the temple, visitors can explore the luxurious bathhouse, dating back to the 3rd century AD, featuring distinctly Roman characteristics typical of those found in contemporary thermal baths.

Following our exploration, we proceed to the Monastery of Geghard, established in the 4th century under the leadership of the First Armenian Catholicos, Gregory the Illuminator. Originally known as Airivank, its subsequent renaming to Geghard signifies a pivotal moment when a spear buried beneath the site bore witness to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, now preserved within the museum complex of Echmiadzin.
