Following pickup from your hotel in Puno between 1:45 p.m. and 2:15 p.m., we will proceed northwest toward the archaeological site of Sillustani. This journey will span approximately 45 minutes.
Upon arrival at the Umayo Lagoon, situated nearly 4,000 meters above sea level, our focus will shift to marveling at the awe-inspiring chullpas of Sillustani. These monumental structures defy natural laws, with their tops typically being wider than their bases and exceeding heights of 12 meters.
As part of the tour through the archaeological complex of Sillustani, visitors will uncover the mysteries of the ancient Colla culture and their funeral practices. Our ascent to the towering chullpas offers breathtaking views of the legendary Umayo Lagoon, revered by inhabitants of the highlands.
The tour concludes after approximately two hours of exploration, followed by a return to the minibus for a smooth departure from Sillustani. We anticipate arriving back in Puno around 5:30 p.m.
