Trip Description

On Day 1:

- Hotel pickup at 5:45 am followed by a two-hour drive to Mollepata, where breakfast is enjoyed.
- A one-hour journey to Soraypampa follows, where riders and their horses are met to transport luggage and belongings weighing seven kilograms per hiker.
- The group starts an uphill hike towards Humantay Lake lasting two hours before descending back to Soraypampa.
- They continue on foot to Salkantay Pass Camp, where a meal break awaits them.

Day 2:

- After waking at 5:00 am with a cup of hot coca tea, the group prepares for a strenuous ascent to the highest point of the Salkantay Trail.
- Upon reaching the destination, the guide conducts a brief ritual honoring the mountains' deities, including the Apus.
- They embark on another two-hour descent to the next campsite, Chaullay, located near the entrance of the Peruvian Amazon region.

Day 3:

- Breakfast begins around 7:00 am with a hearty meal.
- The group hikes towards Sahuayaco Beach for five hours, arriving at the beach around 12:00 pm.
- Local transportation is arranged to transfer them to Santa Teresa within an hour.
- Lunch is taken at Santa Teresa, followed by a four-and-a-half-hour drive to Hidroeléctrica.
- Finally, they travel by train track for three hours to Aguas Calientes, where accommodation is offered.

Day 4:

- After breakfast, travelers proceed to the checkpoint of the Ruins Bridge, opening at 5:00 am, where passports and Machu Picchu tickets must be presented.
- The group climbs the stairs leading to the Machu Picchu main gate for one hour at 6:00 am.
- Guided tours last two and a half hours, followed by a return trip to Cusco.
