From Sharm, Mount Moses Trekking, Sunrise & Monastery Visit

Ascend Mount Sinai for an awe-inspiring experience, where you can witness the breathtaking sunrise from its peak. Explore the invaluable collections housed within St. Catherine's Monastery, which preserves ancient manuscripts and historical artifacts.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh City between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Upon arrival, you will embark on a journey lasting approximately 4 hours via an air-conditioned vehicle to reach Mount Sinai. Once there, you will commence your trekking expedition towards the revered site where Prophet Moses was bestowed the Ten Commandments.

The ascent to Mount Sinai commences with a series of 750 steps, culminating in reaching the summit at approximately 2,285 meters above sea level. Depending on the group’s collective performance, the climb could conclude sooner rather than later, affording participants ample opportunity to fully appreciate the breathtaking panoramic views stretching across the surrounding landscape.

Upon reaching the peak, you will experience the spectacle of the sun setting behind the mountains, casting a golden glow upon the terrain below. This momentary respite allows individuals to capture awe-inspiring photographs or engage in prayer, before descending back into the valley. The descent typically takes approximately 2 hours to complete.

Following the winding path down Mount Sinai, you shall proceed to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of St. Catherine's Monastery. Here, you will have the privilege of exploring the extensive collection of ancient manuscripts housed within the monastery's library and the numerous relics unearthed from the Vatican.

This historic site stands as the oldest continuously operating Christian monastery in the world, nestled amidst the Sinai Peninsula alongside the lesser-known Monastery of Saint Anthony, located in the southern desert of South Cairo.

Once your guided tour concludes, you will embark on the leisurely return trip to your accommodation in Sharm El Sheikh, ensuring a smooth transition into your evening activities awaiting you once again.
