Located near the filming locations of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Lake Pukaki offers a unique experience. The lake’s striking blue hues contrast beautifully against the backdrop of Aoraki and its neighboring peaks in the Southern Alps.

Upon exiting the pass, travelers begin their ascent toward the alpine village of Mt Cook and the Hermitage, home to the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre.
