Following our rendezvous with our guide, we embark on a scenic snowshoe expedition to the picturesque region of Juuma Village within the expansive Kuusamo and Oulanka National Park. Our journey culminates at the enchanting Little Bears Trail, where we traverse alongside the serene River Kitka, observing the majestic Myllykoski Old Mill nestled amidst the cascading waters.
As we advance through the woodland, our eyes are drawn to the abundant wildlife that abounds along the path. White-throated Dippers, known for their distinctive call, gracefully dart between the rippling currents, while playful Otters frolic in the swiftly flowing waters, creating an idyllic scene. These creatures are particularly cherished by local residents, as they often feed beneath the surface, showcasing an intimate relationship with nature's bounty.
Our guided tour promises an unforgettable experience, as we venture deeper into the snowy wilderness. The hiking distance spans approximately 4-5 kilometers, offering ample opportunity to immerse ourselves in the tranquil beauty of the surroundings. During our program, we will pause for a refreshing cup of coffee, accompanied by hearty sandwiches, ensuring a memorable lunchtime.
