Recently rechristened as Mount Liamuiga, the stratovolcano stands majestically on the northern tip of St. Kitts. This imposing geological formation has profoundly influenced the landscape and character of our island. As we traverse its slopes, we will unravel the fascinating story of this ancient natural wonder, which has played a pivotal role in shaping much of our region.

Our exploration begins with a breathtaking scenic drive that takes us through the volcanic terrain, offering a unique perspective on our island’s diverse landscapes. Alongside our journey, we shall pass through the heart of our bustling capital city, visiting academic institutions and other significant urban centers like a former “slave-free” village. Additionally, we will delve into the rich tapestry of our agricultural heritage by exploring a prominent sugar plantation and its adjoining botanical garden.

As we ascend towards our ultimate destination, we embark on a challenging yet rewarding ascent up to the lofty summit of Mount Liamuiga, standing at an impressive elevation of 3, 793 feet above sea level. From this elevated vantage point, we can marvel at the expansive views of the surrounding countryside, including the tranquil waters of the Caribbean Sea below. Our panoramic vistas stretch far beyond, showcasing the serene beauty of the island and glimpses of the nearby volcanic peaks.
