The village of Areni (in last Arpa) since ancient times has been considered as winemaking center of Armenia. Located in the Vayots Dzor region, in the valley of the Arpa River. At the entrance to the city there are two beautiful wineries, where you will have the opportunity to take an excursion and taste the best varieties of Armenian wine. Also here, every year in October take place a wonderful wine festival, where various wine producers from all over the Republic gather and present their production.

Noravank Monastery (translated as New Monastery) was built in the 13th century and is one of the oldest and most famous Monasteries of Armenia. It is located on a slope near Areni, surrounded by its famous red hills. In 1996, there was an attempt to add the Monastery complex to the UNESCO World Heritage List. Also, some of the buildings of the complex were built by the famous ancient sculptor Momik. It is surrounded by territory for exciting walks and massive ridges with a fantastic landscape, where you can take amazing photos for memory.

The Wings of Tatev ropway is the longest cable car in the world (pendulum type, 5752 meters). It was built in 2010 at the initiative of Ruben Vardanyan and Veronika Zonabend. Inside the cabin there is an audio guide throughout the journey, which lasts 15 minutes and ends in the famous Tatev Monastery, which was built in 906 and for centuries has been the spiritual center of the Syunik region. In the 14th century, the famous university operated in the Monastery complex, which for many centuries was the only one in Eastern Armenia. From 1995 to this day, Monastery has been on the list of candidates for UNESCO World Heritage List and currently it's the only functioning Monastery in Armenia.
