Discover the rich natural and archaeological heritage of the Lima coastline during this guided tour to Bandurria and the El Paraíso wetlands. Experience breathtaking scenery firsthand!
Upon arrival at your hotel, we will promptly meet you at the agreed-upon time and proceed via the Panamericana Norte highway toward the Paraíso Wetlands, a protected coastal area situated in Lima.
Following the approximately three-hour journey, we shall reach the expansive lagoons comprising the wetlands, specifically referred to as Paraíso Norte and Paraíso Sur. Our exploration will encompass various habitat types within these ecosystems: tropical forest, mangrove swamps, riverside vegetation, and intertidal zones.
During our visit, we anticipate encountering an array of bird species native to the region, such as the little grebe, Franklin's gull, black oystercatcher, and Peruvian and royal terns.
Next, we shall proceed to the archaeological complex of Bandurria, an ancient site dating back to over five millennia! This location holds historical significance due to its association with the Caral civilization, wherein the utilization of local wetland resources may have played a crucial role in their development.
From the citadel's vantage point, we promise breathtaking views of the surrounding lagoon landscapes. Thereafter, we will enjoy a leisurely lunch under the scenic backdrop of the wetlands. Remember to bring your personal picnic if desired.
Lastly, upon reaching Lima, we expect to arrive after a duration of approximately 13 to 14 hours.
