Kun Khmer or Pradal Serey is an ancient form of kickboxing originating in Cambodia. This combat art can trace its roots back to the 9th century when it was incorporated into military training for the Angkor Warriors to protect their kingdom. It is characterized by a combination of standing strikes and clinching techniques. The Kun Khmer/Kam Boon fight system encompasses various striking styles including punches, kicks, elbows, and knees. Clinches play a crucial role in the game as they enable fighters to gradually tire out their opponents through short-range attacks.

Cambodian fighters often favor more frequent usage of elbows compared to other martial arts disciplines, leading to higher success rates due to their effectiveness in delivering decisive blows.
