Yanayacu River 6-day Trip

During this six-day river excursion along the Yanayacu, guests will have the opportunity to observe various wildlife including pink dolphins, monkeys, tarantulas, and caimans, among others. This unique experience offers visitors an immersive encounter with diverse ecosystems and fascinating fauna.

Description

We shall commence our journey on Day 1 at 9:15 am, picking you up from your accommodation in Iquitos. Upon arrival at the city port, we will embark upon a picturesque boat ride towards the chosen campsite, which promises an enriching environment teeming with natural beauty.

Upon disembarking, we shall proceed to indulge in a sumptuous buffet lunch, followed by an excursion through the surrounding landscape to explore its vibrant ecosystem. An opportune moment will allow us to encounter the diminutive pygmy marmoset, an emblematic species of primates renowned for its miniature stature.

As evening descends, we shall savour a succulent dinner, concluding our culinary expedition with an unforgettable sunset vista along a serene lagoon.

For Day 2, we shall commence our exploration early with a visit to the Sapote lagoon and the adjacent Moena lagoon. Here, we shall witness an array of avian species, arboreal sloths, and adorably perched little monkeys.

Following the morning's activities, we shall replenish our energy with a hearty meal and subsequently venture into the jungle aboard a vessel to hunt for the formidable alligator. Our afternoon will be dedicated to observing the hoatzin, a distinctive prehistoric creature adorned in striking hues.

In the evening, we shall partake in a sumptuous dinner, ending our day amidst the lush foliage, ready for nocturnal adventures.

For Day 3, we shall undertake a journey to the splendid Sapote lagoon and the majestic Moena lagoon, where we shall encounter various birdlife, sloths, and curious monkey inhabitants. Following a leisurely break, enthusiasts may engage in fishing sessions within the Corriente and Purura lagoons, seeking out piranha specimens.

Subsequently, we shall venture to the observatory to study the hoatzin, a captivating creature of ancient lineage. Our evening shall conclude with a delightful feast, marking the conclusion of our day.

Final Day

The remainder of the adventure shall unfold on Day 4 as participants opt to camp in secluded locales, immersing themselves in the heart of the Amazonian forest. A picnic lunch shall be enjoyed, offering an opportunity to capture a glimpse of aquatic fauna.

Our subsequent activity shall involve a picnic breakfast, followed by an exhilarating return journey back to base camp. Upon arrival, we shall gather to share a communal meal, after which we shall depart for San Juan de Yanayacu, where we shall delve into the rich cultural tapestry of the Amazon riverfront.

Returning to our accommodations, we shall restock with snacks, preparing ourselves for a twilight stroll designed to unveil the wonders of the forest floor. This final day shall culminate in an enchanting cruise down the mighty Amazon River, allowing us to explore the Sapote Lagoon, where we shall witness an abundance of birdlife.

Finally, we shall embark on a thrilling voyage to Moena Lagoon, where we shall observe sloths tethered to their trunks. Post-boat trip, we shall savor a sumptuous lunch before concluding our journey in Iquitos, arriving approximately at 4 pm.
