Location Bucharest, Romania

Intrepid Urban Adventures - Europe

This tour offers an immersive experience across various regions of Romania, from its urban centers to rural landscapes, providing a comprehensive exploration of the nation's rich history, stunning architecture, and diverse cuisine.

Your Bucharest tour commences at the National Theatre, the central hub of socio-political history within the city. Upon reaching Strada Batistei, previously known as the 'St Germain' of Bucharest and once hosting the former American embassy, the area now serves as an evocative testimony to diverse eras.

Subsequently, we proceed to the Armenian Quarter. Characterized by the Armenian Church, this neighbourhood exhibits a rich amalgamation of architectural styles spanning various European and Ottoman influences.

Following the exploration of this historical and cultural enclave, we transition towards the bustling Obor Market, renowned as the largest and most celebrated peasant marketplace in Bucharest. To complement our culinary journey, we will partake in a traditional Romanian tuica (brandy), followed by a hearty "peasant platter." Comprising four essential Romanian dips—aubergine, zucchini, boiled beans, and fish roe, along with fresh and aged cheeses like telemea and burduf, cracklings, sausages, smoked bacon, red onions, tomatoes, toasted bread, and a selection of local beers, wines, or soft drinks—we shall continue through the market.

Upon concluding our gastronomic expedition, we indulge in a warm and delightful Wallachian doughnut, freshly baked and served piping hot, concluding our tour with a memorable end.
